Snug In Their Beds Pattern Is In The Shop!
Very happy to announce my Snug In Their Beds PDF pattern is now available in my Etsy shop: mmmcrafts.etsy.com
Skill level: INTERMEDIATE
(If you finished my Twelve Days series, you are ready!)
Snug In Their Beds is the 7th ornament in my ongoing ‘Twas The Night ornament series. It is entirely hand sewn and crafted by YOU. The removable little dreamer is snapped in snugly under a colorful quilt. There are two options included for the bed style and also for the sugar plum vision. The pajama-clad doll is customizable for boy or girl, and there are several options included for the hair.
The slatted bed and the bead sugar plum vision are a little more challenging, so if you are not sure which version to make first, choose the solid bed and the felt sugar plum vision. The tiny, sparkly quilt is really the star of the show, so have some fun choosing contrasting colors for the squares and embroidery.
I provide step-by-step instructions and illustrations to make each and every part of the ornament, including the doll faces and the hanger. The hanger is made from sturdy floral stem wire and it’s probably easier to make than you think! There’s a handy template included in the pattern.
The samples you see here are made with my curated Classic or Retro ‘Twas The Night palettes at Benzie Design. I will be working on the detailed color guides for my samples as soon as I can, so stay tuned for those. Here are the rest of the guides.
This pattern utilizes the amazing and wonderful Sulky Stick ‘n Stitch, which is the best thing to happen to felt crafting since the sheep. You can read more about it here, plus see lots of other tips!
THANK YOU for hanging in there with me while I took the time needed to work out all the options and the best way to make all the little parts. And of course I had to remake one of my samples at the last minute because I suddenly didn’t like the colors I chose. All part of my process! Ha!
