If you have basic hand sewing and embroidery skills then YES you can make this set of beautiful heirloom ornaments! My step-by-step instructions will show you how, and you will build your skills as you go. This series starts at a beginner level and gets more complex as you sew your way through the patterns in order from 1-12. Go at your own pace - sew a few each year or go for the whole series! These #twelvedaysornaments make wonderful serial gifts for your friends and family. Give one or more each year until they have the complete set.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginners who can cut pieces by hand and sew basic hand and embroidery stitches. Sulky Stick ’n Stitch is the secret: Just sew on the lines!
PRINTER REQUIRED: These are digital pattern downloads and a printer is required for the pattern sheets (14 pages). To save paper many folks opt to read the instructions from a screen.

Y'all, tiny stocking stuffers are F-U-N! Here are

Y'all, tiny stocking stuffers are F-U-N! Here are most of the items I've locked in for the By The Chimney stocking ornament. I am including more stuffers than you need so you can customize the contents for your recipient.

For each stocking, choose 1) either a Teddy or a doll, then add 2) a book or a wrapped gift box, then fill in the chinks with 3) a lolly, candy cane, and/or gingerbread tree.

The wrapped gift is not shown here because I'm still figuring it out. Oh, and I changed the embroidery design for the stocking to something I like better, so I need to get some new stocking samples made before sharing photos of a completed and stuffed stocking. Eeeee! That will have to wait a couple of weeks. But I'm excited to start writing this pattern!

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. If you have completed my Twelve Days series, you are ready!

Hey! Get ready to do some paper crafting as part of my upcoming pattern!
*chorus of groans from audience*
Wait wait, it's fun! Y'all, look, it's tiny and adorable and has the complete text of the poem inside.
*audience not looking convinced*
Okay, okay, no worries, it's only one of the stocking stuffer options, and you 100% do not have to make it. But I bet you will! It is not hard to craft, just takes one sheet of nice text weight paper, a scrap of card stock, and a little glue. (I will of course include a printable template and step by step instructions in the pattern.)
I love to give pretty books at Christmas. My sweet friend Robyn once shared this wise gifting guideline that she used for her kids, which I remember only because it rhymes: "Something to wear, something to read, something you want, something you need."
