TDITM: Colly Bird came in under the wire

I was dug in so deep with Bob Cratchit I forgot that I was running out of April. I looked up on April 29th and realized I was about to miss my TDITM deadline. That lit a fire under me and I quickly pulled some felt colors and started cutting the pattern sheet apart. I was a little panicked until I realized that the bird was coming together pretty quickly.
As a matter of fact, I had plenty of time to make all the pieces, experience a color freak-out, make extra pieces as a result of the freak-out, resolve the color freak-out by stacking and squinting at the pieces, and finished sewing the bird together with hours to spare. I even had enough daylight to snap a few photos. *pats self on back of shoulder*
Totally justifies my procrastination habit. Except when I think about how I said, confidently, that I would make more than one Colly Bird in April since I discovered I have given away most of my samples. That didn’t happen. *snorts*
Colly Bird is pattern number four in my Twelve Days series and this particular one is for my eldest daughter. I’m hoping to gift her an entire set of ornaments in a color scheme of her choosing for Christmas. So I’m dragging everyone along with me and encouraging you to make a set too! If you spread it out over twelve months, it’s a lot less stressful. And if you are doing the extra credit assignments, you are in even better shape! Alas. I have not gotten any extra credit this year.
