TDITM 26 Challenge: French Hen
Oui, eef you are sewing my Twelve Days in Twelve Months chall-ahnge to complete un Twelve Days ornament a month, eet ees time to tack-ellle ze third pattern: French Hen!
Add a photo of your completed ornaments in the comments of the pinned Facebook post, or tag your Instagram post with @mmmcrafts and #twelvedaysin12months to share your progress! (Please, no photos of my pattern pages.)
Don’t let the pipe cleaner hen feet intimidate you, they are basically formed from a cross by wrapping one piece of pipe cleaner around another and bending the toes. You’ll also get to practice cutting a scallop edge by hand. And more French knots! I know you love those.
For my 2026 hen, I will be swinging back to the green/aqua end of my Lydia palette (shown above), similar to her Partridge & Pear. At the end of the year I should end up with a half pink/red and half green/aqua set which I hope 1) will look great and 2) my daughter will like. Fingers crossed! I’m still getting used to this very un-Larissa palette. Do-overs seem to be my fate.
Buy the French Hen pattern if you don’t have it yet. (Or if you need the whole series, the 1-12 bundle is the best discounted price and contains bonus materials!) Gaie broderie!
