TDITM 26: Gold Ring challenge complete! Barely!
I looked up from my latest Snug In Their Beds WIP on May 29 and realized I forgot to start my May TDITM challenge. I had of course carefully thought about it, which according to my mom was just as good as having actually done the project. LOL
So I hurriedly got down to business and completed the Gold Ring late last night. No sweat. *High fives self* It’s a good thing this one is a fairly quick make. However, leaving myself only one spare afternoon to take photos was not great since the light was really dismal today. I’m not sure what is going on in Atlanta lately but it’s apparently turned into Portland. Rain every day for the last week or so.
I HAVE REGRETS.
Of course I do. I mostly like it. But I may end up remaking the ring using a darker green for the inside edge. Julep just doesn’t have enough contrast, IMO. I thought it would. Alas. Sometimes these things don’t become apparent until I take photos. And I tried to add some sparkle on the gem with beads and sequins but not sure I how I feel about it. Those might disappear in vs 2.0.
Gold Ring is pattern number five in my Twelve Days series, and this 2026 set is for my youngest, Lydia. I’m hoping to gift her an entire set of ornaments this color scheme of her choosing for Christmas! So I’m dragging y’all along with me and encouraging you to make a set too! If you spread it out over twelve months, it’s a lot less stressful. Or it should be. LOL
