TDITM: Lord a-Leaping finished!

*Drum roll* 2025 TDITM GOAL ACHIEVED! *Kermit arms* And I finished early! I cannot tell you how happy I am to be able to gift this set to my eldest daughter for Christmas! I really enjoyed working with the lovely palette that she chose. Y’all know what a procraftinator I am, so having the monthly deadline and online accountability with you awesome mmmakers really worked! Now, I might still be up at 3 am on Christmas morning crafting something else, but this project is DONE!

This leapin’ Lord and True Love Heart were both made according to my pattern with no additions. I used gold metallic felt for his fancy vest. I added a new color to my felt palette for his cravat and cuffs, a scrap of Ecru. If you do not have a small scrap of White or Ecru laying around, you can sub in Coral.

The wood bead for his head was sealed with hairspray (yes, that’s a thing). Because the unfinished bead is sealed, I used permanent markers instead of gel pens or fabric markers for the features and hair. Sealing the bead does stop the potential ink bleed, but it also gives a slight sheen to the ink and makes it harder to fill imperfections in the wood with ink. So there are pros and cons. I have since realized I can coat the finished head with matte Mod Podge if the hair looks too shiny. I’ll file that away.

THE COMPLETE SET:

Did you get your set finished too? You did? *CONGRATULATIONS!* (And if not, remember no matter how many ornaments you are able to make, you are still closer to a set!) Thanks for joining me in this Twelve Days In Twelve Months challenge! Now my youngest daughter needs her own set, so I will be challenging myself again for 2026. If you couldn’t join me for the 2025 challenge, there’s a fresh new start coming in January! And I LOVE her color palette!
