TDITM 26: January Challenge complete!

NOTE: This post shows the older version before my March color freak out in which I remade all the TDITM 26 ornaments using White Instead of Ecru. My color guides show the corrected ones. 🙂

Goal achieved, barely! Ha! I finished the original set January 31 around 2:30 PM. I knew it was going to be a hail Mary to meet the deadline because the first twenty days of January was spent getting Cap & Gown into the shop, and then after that I was out of town for nine days! So I finally got to start sewing this set on Jan 30. And I only had one color freak-out and two do-overs.

DETAILED COLOR GUIDE

I’m still getting comfortable with Lydia’s palette. It is out of my wheelhouse, but I think I will love it? I’m not sure about the embroidery colors I chose, but I’ll sit on it for a while. Silver instead of gold this time around for the metallic accents, which I’m loving. I ended up removing most of the extra sequins I added to Abigail’s partridge last year, so I only used one 5 mm translucent sequin behind the French knot on the partridge eye. I might have used a silver one instead. I actually meant to add another sequin behind the knot on the plume, but I forgot. Oops! You may notice I also added some extra veins to the embroidery on the pear inset (I did that last year, too). It needed a little splash of color there. For February, I plan to switch to the pinks/reds so that her completed set will end up an alternating combo of the two ends of her palette.

JOIN THE CHALLENGE! It’s not too late. The goal is to sew one Twelve Days pattern per month in 2026. At this stage, it’s easy to catch up!
