TDITM ’26 Color Guide: Piper Piping
This is the palette I used for my youngest daughter’s Twelve Days set during my 2026 Twelve Days in Twelve Months challenge. Below are the detailed felt/floss color guides for you.
First, some handy links to get you started:
To buy the pattern: mmmcrafts.etsy.com
To buy the felt colors you see below: Benzie Design, and search the colors by name. You’ll see an option to add matching floss. (Benzie also carries many of the notions and tools you need.)
COLOR GUIDE:
FELT COLORS:
Rhubarb: Body
White: Coat
Pinot: Tunic
Begonia: Hat
Pink: Cuffs
Cherry Red: Feather and flower
Kelly: Leaves
Silver Metallic: Pipe
EMBROIDERY COLORS:
Note: These are just the decorative colors. You’ll also need matching floss to sew the felt pieces together.
DMC White
DMC 321 (Edging, sleeves, ‘No’ on back)
DMC 891 (Tunic chevrons, coat French knots)
DMC 701 (Tunic stems, sleeve knots)
DMC 603 (Stars, flower, knots on tunic)
DMC 500
DMC 166
DMC 154 (10 on back)
DMC G168 (loop)
If you zoom in you’ll see I actually combined two DMC colors on the two lower stars on the coat front and also on the tunic chevrons, but I don’t think it adds much. Upon reflection, I think using just 891 for the chevrons and just 603 for the stars is better.
OTHER NOTIONS:
I added Benzie 4 mm silver sequins with Benzie Moonstone seed beads as buttons on the belt. I added 5 mm translucent iridescent sequins behind the four French knots on the coat and Benzie 4 mm Red sequins behind the French knots on the tunic. At the center of the flower, I added an 8 mm red metallic sequin and Benzie Moonstone seed bead. And, of course, the Benzie metallic silver pipe.
I hope this color guide was helpful! Love to see what you make. Tag @mmmcrafts and #twelvedaysornaments on Instagram.
