More felt ornaments
I finally got some better light, so here are some ornaments I made for myself last year. I had so much fun dreaming them up. You can see I like sparkly.
I remembered being very inspired by the 2007 Anthropologie ornaments for my flying bird. I loved how all the colorful embroidery looked on theirs.
The mushroom ornament is ok, but I don’t like how the legs look on the bug (kinda curled up like it’s dead, ew), but I was too lazy to pick them back out and redo. I guess I could just pick them out and leave it legless.
The elf ornament is still a sad little WIP a year later. I got frustrated because the legs ended up in the wrong place the first time, and I was too lazy to redo the whole body because I had glued the legs in. I see a theme developing here. Maybe the embarrassment over revealing my follow-through problems will inspire me to finish it this year.
These are super exquisite!!!! They are a work of art 🙂
Once again, amazed at all that DETAIL. The bird is fantastic. You must really love doing them!
How absolutely adorable! I loveeee that bird!
can’t handle the cuteness! These are so great, I admire your craftsmanship. Wonderful job!
Sooo cute.
I think the elf is my favorite. It just looks like he’s got a little elf dancin going on! Cute! 🙂
thanks, everybody!
Thank you for all your christmas inspiration! You’ve got an award waiting for you in my blog!
What a very inspirational blog! Just lovely.
Beautiful work:) The elf is my favorite – he has a hint of mischief on his cute little face!
These are amazing.. I love the sweet little details in each one!
You probably never thought you’d have a comment on this post 16 1/2 years later, but here I am! I’ve enjoyed reading the genesis of your blog and mmmcrafts this morning (yes, I started at the beginning!) I’m so glad you migrated all of your posts to the new blog so curious fans could see where it all started. I’ve been a fan for a number of years, and currently have a Twas the Night Santa in the works, patiently sitting next to me, waiting for me to get back to him. Just wanted to say thank you and bravo. You have provided so much crafting joy and inspiration for so many. And I don’t doubt for one second that those smiley-faced wooden beads you found at Michaels are a direct result of it! ;). I’m so looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
Hey there! Haha! Thanks for your encouragement and support and for taking the time to read my ol’ blog and to comment! For some reason I’m not getting email notifications of comments so I need to get to the bottom of that. I did not include all the legacy blog posts in the migration (because there were over 1000 and that translated into big $$$). So I made deep cuts to get it down to 500, but I miss some of the posts that I culled out so I might take the time to put them back in at some future point. Thanks so much! 🙂
Oops, make that 15 1/2…haha. You’d never know I was a math teacher once upon a time!
