Cap & Gown update!
I’ve spent every available minute working on this pattern, and my goal is still to get it off my desk before 2025 becomes 2026! I’d like to start the new year with a new project, but rest assured, I won’t be releasing this pattern until it is just right. If it has to leak over to early January, so be it.
Honestly, it’s more like four patterns with one million* different options built in, which is why it is taking forever to write and illustrate. The pattern includes elementary girl, elementary boy, high school female, and high school male graduate versions and several options for honors, skin tones, and hairstyles. I’m especially excited that I have solved the problem of how to add glasses in a way that will not make you hate me. Yesssss!
*Not the actual number of options but feels correct
The final samples are done, and I’m finishing up the instructions/illustrations. Then comes shooting the photos and proofing and editing. I’ll jump back on it after I enjoy a couple of days off for Christmas! Hey, do you notice the bespectacled boy above with the floppy brown hair resembles a certain young wizard of literary fame? I think this pattern could be easily repurposed to create some Harrys and Rons and Hermiones with the addition of a few accessories, like a scarf and wand?
As soon as the pattern comes available, I’ll shout about it on all my channels. If you’d like to get the announcement straight to your inbox, sign up here.

I can’t wait for this one! My grandson is graduating from High School in June and really want to have one made by then.
In the meantime, I will work on Scrooge and the Crew.
Larissa our patterns are amazing. My friend Jamie and I have enjoyed creating together with these…We have done your 12 days of Christmas, A Christmas Carol and Twas the Night Before Christmas. I have started remaking Twas the Night for my children, so this year they all received Santa. I have four children so it did take me a week or two to get them done! My daughter loved hers and I am hoping my boys will too.
My daughter is getting married in May and she asked me to make her ornaments for her bridal party to reflect the wedding. Hmmmm. We shall see how they come out- I will send you pictures. Yours- Jenn
They are so beautiful like all of your ornaments. I love all the different options and I’m so excited to make these when the pattern comes out.
I have completed so many of your beautiful ornaments including the 12 days of Christmas, Twas the Night before Christmas and Scrooge with friends and I wait with baited breath for the next gorgeous figure.
Love this pattern! My granddaughter is graduating from High School and she would love this! I just finished the 12 Days of Christmas series and am working on the Ebenezer series (Scrooge is complete.) I’m having such a great time making these little creations. I love your idea for turning these into Harry Potter characters! I’m going to have to give that a try for sure. Thank you for sharing your creativity and lovely patterns.
