TDITM 26: Piper Piping Finished!

Another early finish for October! I’m killin’ it, y’all. Not really, I had no choice because it needed to be done before I left on my big trip! But Mr Piper obligingly came together with little struggle in mid September and he has been sitting on my desk waiting to be blogged until now. I have to tell you, that trip was the first time in my life I have started packing so early and in such an organized manner. No packing panic occurred, especially after I let go of the insane desire to purchase a whole new wardrobe. I feel I’m really growing as a person. It’s never too late.

I went for a high-contrast color scheme with the white coat and burgundy tunic. I was not sure I was going to like it, but I do! The red boots were a must. We are gettin’ dangerously close to a full set, y’all!

Just like the Drummer, I used hairspray to treat the bead before using regular Microns and colored pencils to draw on his face and hair. No bleed! I added some sparkle to the felt by using sequins on the flower, coat, and tunic, plus of course the metallic felt for the pipe.

TWO more patterns to go! That is only one plus one. Our next challenge is Lady Dancing. Yes, the dancer! She’s number eleven in the original English carol, not nine. For her colors I’ll be switching back into the green/aqua end of my TDITM palette. Check here for more info about the challenge.

JOIN THE CHALLENGE! I know it is October but honestly it’s not too late to sew a few by Christmas! The original goal was to sew one Twelve Days pattern per month in 2026. However, you can comfortably sew a few of these per month, so you may even be able to catch up! Or maybe make half a set. Or a quarter set. Even if you only make a couple ornaments, you’ll still be closer to a set, right?

Is this type of crafting new to you? Get started here.
