TDITM: Drummer Drumming finished!

Early for once. I mean, it’s not even the back half of September, y’all! I’m living in the small joys these days, and being ahead of the TDITM deadline is a win!

This one looks similar to the one on my daughter’s inspo image, so the colors kind of chose themselves. I changed it up a little with a different color for the boots and of course added the gold metallic accent. At first I thought I’d make the whole drum in metallic felt, but turns out I like it only on the sash. That way all the fun stitching on the drum can still be seen. I made up for it by adding gold sequins under the French knots on the drum. Also, I cheated and did the more advanced open-ended method for his sleeve cuffs rather than follow my pattern. Because I do what I want. *picture of cat paw inching mug toward edge of a table*

You’ll notice his drumsticks are a little fancier than my usual toothpicks. I love the turned ends. I saw a mmmaker using these Diamond L’Elegance Toothpicks for her drummers on my Facebook page (thanks, Tifany!). I found them at my local Walmart, although not next to the other toothpicks. For some reason they were next to the matchsticks and ashtrays? Weird. After staring at my photos, I think I might’ve made his drumsticks a bit too long. I’m going to live with it.
