TDITM June: Goose a-Laying

New month, new challenge! If you are participating in my Twelve Days in Twelve Months sewing challenge to complete one Twelve Days ornament a month, it’s time to sew the sixth pattern: Goose a-Laying!

Shown above: Geese a-Laying and eggs. Green goose color guide (Sorry, aqua goose and egg do not have a guide, but they are similar colors to this aqua hen)

Can you believe we are already on the 6th month of our Twelve Days In Twelve Months challenge? Just like the first pattern in the series, Goose a-Laying has a bonus ornament included: the egg! If you did the April Extra Credit assignment for Easter, you have already sewn your egg and can just concentrate on the goose! Alas, I did not do the extra credit, so I need to tackle both ornaments this month. For mine, I will be swinging back to the teal/green end of my palette (similar to Colly Bird and Turtle Dove).

Q: I’m just starting. Is there still time to make a full set by Christmas?
A: Heck yeah! Sewing one pattern per month is actually a pretty sedate pace. You could very comfortably sew 3-4 of these ornaments per month. In panic mode, sewing 2 ornaments a week is doable, but that would be a bit less enjoyable. Ha! (Each ornament takes 2-3 crafternoons to make.) Jump on in and sew at your own pace. Remember: No matter how many ornaments you make by December, you will still be closer to a set!

Add a photo of your completed ornaments in the comments of the pinned Facebook post, or tag your Instagram post with @mmmcrafts and #twelvedaysin12months to share your progress! (Please, no photos of my pattern pages.)

Buy the Goose a-Laying pattern if you don’t have it yet. (Or if you need the whole series, the 1-12 bundle is the best discounted price and contains bonus materials!)
