Hello Larissa. Your ornaments are beautiful, as always! I was wondering, why didn't you use a strong red for your classic Santa's jacket? Is the Benzie red too dark? Or two vibrant? Thanks for the lovely pattern.
Hello! Thanks so much! His coat is a very vibrant red called Carmine. It's not a classic red, but it was my preference. I just like rich, bright colors. Benzie also has a more traditional true red called (wait for it) Red. 🙂 That would look very nice too! Maybe paired with Carmine for the body. I hope that helps!
Well, a vibrant red will stand out among the tree branches. 😀
HI Larissa,I got my pattern and my Benzie supplies. My question is where you get the cotton pipe cleaners. I see some on etsy that look off white. The salesgirl at Joanns said maybe a smoke shop. Any way I'm excited to make them.
Hi, Elizabeth! Thanks so much for your purchase! I have resources for purchasing supplies listed in the back of the pattern. I just purchase my cotton pipe cleaners at Amazon.com because I use a lot, but a pipe/cigar shop or a hardware store is a great place to find them locally. Mine are a creamy white. I bought these a while back and since it's over 500, I've still got plenty. haha! https://www.amazon.com/BJ-Long-Standard-Pipe-Cleaners/dp/B000WW6VUO/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1HS4BW6XBRS96&keywords=bj+long+pipe+cleaners&qid=1567974361&s=gateway&sprefix=bj+long+p%2Caps%2C852&sr=8-1
These are so pretty! And I love the Night before Christmas poem. Too bad my kids don’t speak english yet. Glancing over the pics the mint santa looks a bit like a hangman santa because of his slanted head Poor guy!
Thanks, Yasmijn! I didn't realize it but with the silver loop it does look a bit like that. haha!
Visiting you today from The Twisted Stitcher. My goodness, you are sooo talented!!! The attention you give to detail is fascinating. Thanks for sharing your accomplishments with the blogging world.
Hello, Barbara! What a lovely review on the Twisted Stitcher! Thanks for letting me know. I do love tiny details. 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
Hi! I love your patterns and made the Twelve Days ornaments as gifts for family over the last two years. They love them! I am excited to get started on these. I was wondering if you could add the thread color numbers for the coordinating felt. These are always the ones I seem to forget when I buy thread and then have to guess. Thanks!
Great question! I do not list matching colors because my interpretation of what matches may differ with the felt vendor's list. You can contact Benzie for their matching floss colors here: https://www.benziedesign.com/products/swatch-chart-of-wool-blend-felt?_pos=6&_sid=bd5a8c8db&_ss=r
They also offer a swatch chart for their felts, and it looks like the DMC colors are listed along with the felt color. You might be able to squint and see it from the photos. I also recommend purchasing their swatch chart — I use mine all the time! 🙂
