TDITM: February goal achieved!

February goal crushed! Yesssss. Here’s the newly finished Turtle Dove for my lovely eldest daughter. My time in the studio is super short in February, so I had to get this done by today in order to stay on track. I confess I did not get to the True Love Heart nor is it likely before the end of February, so I’m going to have to let that extra credit assignment go. *whoosh* That’s the sound of me letting it go. Still happy though! Yay!

BENZIE DESIGN FELT COLORS USED:
Blends:
Julep, Copper, Citron
100% wool Bellwether: Nori, Teal, Metallic Gold
(Here’s the detailed color guide, including flosses.)

The only sequin I used this time was behind the eye. I used a little gold Diamant embroidery on the neck and picked out the beak in metallic gold. I tried the bead foot in gold paint but didn’t like it, so now it’s dark green.

My Benzie Design TDITM palette is gelling

With this No 2 ornament finished, you can now see the other end of my palette spectrum. My plan for this set is to alternate and do half of them in the copper/mustard end of the palette and half of them in the green/teal end, with that top row functioning as accent colors. There are a couple of colors shown with a ? and that’s because they are so close to another color that I probably won’t use them.
The current active list:
Copper, Coral, Tortoise,* Mustard, Ochre, Nori,* Citron, Chartreuse, Sherwood,* Turquoise, Teal,* and Julep. Accents: Burgundy, Rhubarb,* Foxglove, and Gold Metallic*
* 100% wools

Here is the color inspiration photo my daughter chose followed by what I’ve made so far:
