Hey, do y'all want a 'Twas The Ebenezer Challenge? Hey, do y'all want a 'Twas The Ebenezer Challenge? ha! Because you know what I've noticed? 'Twas The Night and Ebenezer both have 6 patterns right now. And that adds up to 12! So for those of you not sewing the TDITM, do you guys want me to send out a monthly challenge to sew a TTN/Ebenezer pattern this year? Now listen, I can't sew along with you -- Y'all know what a train wreck I have going here, LOL, but I could send out inspo posts and reminders. If you are only focusing on one of those series, that means you'll make one pattern every two months. What do you think?

Houston, we have a color palette. Lydia and I had Houston, we have a color palette.
Lydia and I had a palette meeting and here's what we came up with after some minor head butting. I think it honors her vintage inspiration photos pretty well. The final felt selection is a little liquid at the moment, which is why I taped on the felt swatches instead of gluing them. LOL No worries, it will all start to firm up as I make a few ornaments. But her core colors are Cherry Red, Pink, Kelly Green, and Aqua. With metallic silver accents to bring the tinsel vibe. Yes, y'all, I'm finally going to make a a set in classic Christmas colors! It's a miracle.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Time to sew some Partridges & Pear HAPPY NEW YEAR! Time to sew some Partridges & Pears. If you are joining me in this year's TDITM challenge (to sew one Twelve Days pattern per month for a full set by Christmas) then now's the time to get sewing!

I'd love to see what you make. Tag me with @mmmcrafts and #twelvedaysin12months. Let's cheer each other on! I'm still buried beneath the Cap & Gown rockslide, so mine will have to be sewn later on in January. Stay tuned!

YES! If you are using Stick 'n Stitch (which is m YES! If you are using Stick 'n Stitch (which is magical BTW), you need to preshrink your wool felt by wetting it thoroughly and letting it air dry. (Instructions are on page 2 of my patterns.) The reason: Wool felt shrinks in water. (Yes, even blends do.) So if you do not preshrink, your lovely embroidered piece will unfortunately shrink when you soak away the stabilizer. After it dries, your stitches will look loose, and the piece will no longer match up with the unembroidered pieces. Yikes! Nobody wants that after hand stitching something they are proud of! Preshrinking is easy, and the felts air dry overnight.
EXCEPTION to preshrinking: Metallic or glitter felts, like the fantastic ones I use from @benziedesign. Those are wool felts coated on one side with plastic. I have found that even though they shrink on the wool felt sides, the coated side does not. They can look a little cupped after soaking, but that usually relaxes as you sew the pieces together. You can also give them a quick press, but ONLY from the wool felt side.
