TDITM 26 October Challenge: Piper Piping!

Fall has finally arrived! (And happy springtime for my readers in the Southern Hemisphere!) Here in Georgia we have to wait a while for autumn to make an appearance in more than just name. It’s just beginning to cool down a bit and those ads for pumpkin spice everything are finally starting to sound appealing. The irony is that all the fall decor has already come and gone from the shops. Halloween stuff is on clearance and Christmas stuff fills the aisles. ARgh!

Nevermind that, sew a piper with me for our Twelve Days in Twelve Months sewing challenge (to complete one Twelve Days ornament a month in 2026). (But wait, you might say, isn’t this the wrong order? Be assured, it’s the correct order for the original English carol. If 1780 is not for you, here’s the solution.)

I designed Mr Piper in side view, like Lord a-Leaping. I think his feathery hat is fun! Reminder: if you are a bit nervous about making his head, please review my handy head tutorial then look for the specific instructions in the Piper pattern.

My daughter’s piper will be sewn in the red/pink end of my Benzie color palette and I’m definitely using the silver metallic for his pipe! I will probably add some additional bling with a sequin on the flower too.
