How cute are those! What is it with mushrooms? I guess its the great colors and fun shape.
What a cute avoidance tactic! I usually sit in front of the computer reading blogs, etc., when I'm avoiding something. And then I work really fast as I'm running late… better under pressure, y'know? 😉
I do it too! But nothing as great as these fabulous fungi comes of it, though. These are truly gorgeous. How did you make them?
Those mushrooms look so pretty in autumn colors Larissa!
BTW, there's a japanese fabric giveaway in my blog. It ends tomorrow. Hope you enter!
NanaBeast, they are made from wool felt and linen scraps, a few glass beads, and a small embroidery hoop to hold the base. A mushroom is pretty simple to make, just a circle cut from felt sewn right sides together to a yo-yo made from linen, then turned. The stem is just a cylinder of felt, didn't even turn it, just trimmed the seam very close.
A very sweet thing to make while you should be doing something else! Clever you!
Why are we always doing this? My husband is always wondering – it truly must be a women thing…
Kind regards Nina
it is so nice others have the same illness of crafting when you should be working.I cannot say how many times I begin a project instead of folding laundry. Carry on in your craftiness- the work will always be there.
so beaytiful! 😉
Hi Larissa! Your 'shrooms are so fun! I have to admit I am loving your little "recipe" on the left column. I grew up eating cheddar cheese on toasted wheat with maple syrup or honey and people always thought we were so weird. I am glad you are weird with me and I think we will have that for breakfast in the morning!
Nö, that is perfect. I'll blame it on female hormones! It's an unassailable excuse.
Mom of 5, it is like my left brain checks out as a reaction to stress, and my right brain has no choice but to take over.
Bess, oh, yes, I love all variations of that recipe. It's the sweet, salty and bitter together…mmm. Have you ever had the Monte Christo at Bennigans? Oh. My. Word. It's almost pure artery clogging fat, but it is delicious. Ham and swiss on sourdough, that is deep fried. Then with a raspberry dipping sauce. Whew!
how cute!! I love avoidance projects. I've created so many nifty thing while using this procrastination tactic.
I love your blog. :o)
These are adorable! Just another example of how we women can multi-task and then some:)
I felt like you yesterday. I have two gift projects that I am in the middle of working on that need to get mailed out ASAP. However, yesterday I decided out of the blue that I had to make a skirt for Chloe to wear to church last night. *Sigh* Oh well. We'll get it all done eventually. Right?
I made your messenger bag! I love it!!!!!!!!! It is at http://southernseven.blogspot.com/2009/10/messenger-bag.html but don't look too closely. I made piping for the front flap. I origionally made bias tape, but my leaves were too close to the edge so I changed it into piping. Love your blog and all your wonderful things you share.
What is it about mushrooms? I love them! Yours turned out so cute. I think you spent your time wisely. 😉

What a fun way to use an embroidery hoop! Plus, mushrooms are always a good idea. 🙂

Love the embroidery hoop. I have an overabundance and have been feeling I should let some of them go. Oh, look I need to make more mushrooms!!!
