Maid a-Milking Samples
I’m getting very close to finishing the Maid a-Milking pattern! I plan to sequester myself upstairs with Squeegee Beckinheim* over the next few days to finish up. My youngest’s school play is over and I’m looking at a mostly commitment free weekend. I have to tell you I’m a little panicked to find myself so close to Thanksgiving and so little prepared for December. This should be a familiar feeling since I’m NEVER prepared to meet December. It’s always a surprise. It’s only been twelve months since the last one!

*Gilmore Girls reference. Are you guys excited about the new episodes? I want to be. But I have a dark premonition that the magic will be gone. Oy with the poodles already.
Oh, so cute. Good job, can't wait to make them… ;o)
She is really cute! Love the design and colors. Can't wait to make her.
Really pretty with gorgeous detail 🙂
Ohhhhhh I am so in love! Just started making a Partridge and Pear today. If I hunker down, I'll have the first 7 in the series done in time for our Christmas Eve tree party.
Oh, she's delightful! I SO want to start making my 1-6 set, can't wait: the pattern instructions are printed, my felt has arrived, I'm deciding on thread colours, but the sticky-fabry-wotsit hasn't come yet and won't be here in the UK until 15 December. I have been consoling myself by looking on the internet at pictures of the 12 days of Christmas, wondering and imagining how you might be designing the rest of the series – and it's making me even more excited to get started, especially as you are giving us sneaky-peeks at no.8!
Oh and with the embroidery!!!
Can I ask what is the gold felt on the bodice behind the apron?
I love the wooden bead hands! Pure Genius!
totally wonderful as always, thanks!
Hey, Maggie, that is a Benzie Design wool blend felt color called 'mustard'.
Yay, Romona! Thank you.
Thanks so much, Jan Olsen!
Thank you, Lorna! 🙂
Gretchen, good luck! You have pah-lenty of time, as I always tell myself. 😉 Actually, don't tell yourself that since it always gets me in trouble.
Hey, there! Thanks so much! Sounds like you are ready to go once the sticky fabri-wotsit arrives. hah! Sorry for your wait! I'm so glad you like the series!
Why, thank you PatchworkPottery! I had a hard time figuring those out but think I got it licked. It was just too good to run the handle through them! The tricky part was attaching them in a non-ugly way to the arms. 🙂
Thank you, purejuice!
